Foundation Terre des hommes (Tdh), the lead agency for this project, is an international NGO established in the 1960s and officially registered in Switzerland since 1988, with headquarters in Lausanne. Tdh has partnered with HELP, a leading NGO working on children and women rights in Andhra Pradesh.
The project works towards improved rehabilitation and reintegration in state-run protection systems for child victims of trafficking in Andhra Pradesh through:
- Improved capacity and functioning of CWCs in 11 districts of AP
- Improved and integrated care-giving services for children in 9 government Shelter Homes of AP
The shelter homes receive support to develop and implement appropriate standards of care and protection through staff trainings and mentoring, development of curriculum on positive discipline, development of standard operational procedures, and an effective case management system. CWCs are supported to develop standard operating procedures and a helpline for easy reference as well as on-the-spot advice on dealing with complicated issues related to the management of cases.
